The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is organized by the Sint Maarten Yacht Club Regatta Foundation.
The daily operations is done by the Regatta Office, which consists of the Regatta Director, Assistant Director and Regatta Assistant.
However, far more people are involved, all volunteers. The Steering Committee consists out of 6 committee heads who all put their spare time into organizing their part of the Regatta e.g. Operations, PR, Race, Event, etcetera.
During the months leading up to the regatta and during the event itself 150 volunteers are needed in order to make the event run smoothly. These volunteers work all different kinds of jobs, on the water conducting starts and finishes, running the water taxi service, but there are also many volunteers working on shore, for registration, running the protest room and many other jobs. Young and old, every nationality, it doesn't matter, our volunteers are key to the event!
