There are several companies that rent out yachts to race the Regatta in. Moorings & Sunsail & VPM are the designated St.Maarten based Bareboat fleet. Onother islands Bare boats are also for rent but subject to the approval of the race committee for admitance into the Bareboat Class of the St.Maarten Heineken Regatta.
Other companies mentioned rent out boats with and without Spinnakers for in those respctive classes. Please contact them directly for prices etcetera.
Special Charter:
The St. Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation in conjunction with the St Maarten 12 Metre Challenge is delighted to offer you the opportunity to participate in our Heineken Regatta 2009 Fundraising event. St. Maarten 12 Metre Challenge will, once again, be ‘donating’ their America’s Cup boats to the St. Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation for this special occasion, with all proceeds going to the St Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation.
We will be racing in a special exhibition class on Saturday 7th of March. Each guest will be offered a ‘crew members’ position and will have the opportunity to ‘work’ the boat, thereby experiencing the thrill of ‘America’s Cup’ yacht racing in the warm blue waters and brisk trade winds of the Caribbean. For this event, no previous sailing experience is necessary.
All donations, small or large, are very welcome. We look forward with gratitude to your support to this worthwhile cause.
