Notice of Race
The Sint Maarten Yacht Club takes pleasure in inviting you to compete in the Gill Commodores cup ,, March 4, 2010. The organizing authority is the Sint Maarten Yacht Club. The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (2009-2012), which can be found at www.sailing.org, the Sailing Instructions and its attachments.

Advertising
Advertising will be conform ISAF regulation 20. Boats may be required to display advertising provided by the organizing authority as permitted by ISAF Regulation 20.4.

Eligibility & Entry
The Regatta will be held for the following Class that may get subdivided:

CSA Rating Rule Boats may enter by sending their entry to the Sint Maarten Yacht Club by fax, mail or E-mail no later than February 23, 2010. Boats may be accepted after this date by paying a late fee of US$50.00. Entry form is available online or by contacting the regatta office. Fees
The entry fee for the Commodores Cup is a flat fee of $65.00 per entry. The entry fee may be paid at registration. The fee is payable in CASH, ST.MAARTEN CHEQUES, TRAVELERS CHEQUE or VISA/MASTER CARD. Entry Fee is in US Dollars.

Bow/Stern Numbers
All boats are required to register their sail numbers for use in identifying their boat. Boats without sail numbers will need to carry bow and stern numbers for the purpose of identification. A deposit of US$100.00 is charged for a set of bow/stern numbers. You may pay this deposit at registration, when the bow/stern numbers will be distributed. On Sunday, March 7, 2010 after racing, bow/stern numbers shall be returned and the deposit will be refunded. The final date to return bow/stern numbers is June 1, 2010, any numbers returned after this date will not have their deposit refunded.

Schedule of races
The first warning signal will not be before 11.30 AM. On Thursday March 4, 2010.

Registration
A separate registration will be available to those participants entered in the Gill Commodores Cup only. This will take place Wednesday March 3rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Gill Commodores Cup participants also entered in the St.Maarten Heineken Regatta will be able to handle both registrations at this time. For those not able to attend the Gill Commodores Cup registration they will be able to attend the general registration on Wednesday March 3rd and Thursday March 4th from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Name changes to any boat may not be accepted after February 24th 2010. If any name change is accepted this may be done at an administrative fee of US$50.00 and the acceptance of a name change is at the sole discretion of the Organizing Authority.

Penalty system
Decisions of the jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5

Scoring System
The low point system of Appendix A will apply. No scores will be excluded.

Prizes
1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded in each class as well as an overall prize on Thursday March 4th, 2010.

Disclaimer of liability
Competitors participate in the Commodores Cup entirely at their own risk. See RRS4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority and any other party involved in the organization and conduct of the regatta will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

CSA Rating Certificate
Boats in the Commodore’s Cup and the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta must have a valid 2010 CSA digital rating certificate. Even if you just had your boat measured in 2009 it must be checked by a CSA Measurer and reissued for 2010. This takes very little time. CSA rating certificates are validated by CSA Measurers using an online rating program. Only these digitally certified certificates are considered valid. Please have this taken care of before coming to registration. CSA rating certificate changes will only be approved in accordance with the amendment to Rule A.3.4.2. of the CSA Rating Rule, which can be found on their website listed below.
